Colts Defensive Coordinator Matt Eberflus has landed a 2nd Head Coaching interview, this time with Jags Owner Shad Khan.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been a poverty franchise for many years and that did not end with the hire and eventual departure of former Ohio State and Florida Head Coach Urban Meyer. Shad Khan is looking to turn this organization around by hiring Eberflus who is widely respected around the league and interviewed for The Chicago Bears Head Coach vacancy.

Matt Eberflus came over to The Colts in 2018 after a stint in Dallas as the Linebackers coach. Colts General Manager Chris Ballard hired Eberflus to be a part of Josh McDaniels staff before McDaniels ultimately backed out on the agreement to become the Head Coach. 4 years later and The Colts have found themselves in The Top 10 in scoring defense 3 times and just finished the 2021 season No.2 in Turnovers.

“The goal is still to be a Head Coach one-day” Eberflus explained after the attack jr of the 2021 season. If the Colts see their defensive coordinator land a Head Coaching gig this off-season, they will be in the market for a new play-caller on the defensive side and MAYBE a new defense scheme change.
